President’s Welcome

Dear current and prospective Golden Key members, welcome back to another year at the ANU! The ANU Golden Key Executive Committee has been back at work planning events and activities for our members and we forward to another successful and enjoyable year in 2009.

So far this year, we have fundraised for the victims of the Victorian bushfires through the Golden Key ANU Bushfire Appeal, helped keep the ANU campus beautiful by participating in Clean Up Australia Day, and held social drinks at the Kremlin Bar. We have many more exciting social events and charity initiatives planned for this year, including Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, volunteer tutoring, wine and cheese evenings, and a series of public lectures. I would encourage you all to make the most of your membership by coming along to our events, meeting your fellow Golden Key members, and having lots of fun!

Why Join Golden Key?

Prospective Golden Key members often ask us why they should join Golden Key. Aside from recognition of your academic achievement, Golden Key membership offers you a range of benefits. Members are able to apply for over $400,000 in scholarships, access career resources, and attend the Golden Key Asia-Pacific Conference and International Conference in the United States. Members are also given the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional development by undertaking leadership positions, both within the ANU Chapter Executive and more broadly. For example, one of our past ANU Chapter Presidents, Jeffrey Lai, was the Asia-Pacific representative to the international Golden Key Council of Student Members.

Comments and Suggestions

We are continually looking for new ways to engage our members and to contribute to the community. If you have any comments or suggestions regarding events that we could run this year or initiatives that we could get involved in, please contact us using through our Contact page.

I look forward to meeting you throughout the year!
